Project acronym: #soil4nature
Programme: Interreg VI-A Hungary – Slovakia
Project duration: 07/2024 – 12/2026
Coordinator: Bioeconomy Cluster, Slovakia
EU contribution: 161 280,00 EUR
National contribution: 24 192,00 EUR
The project is implemented by four partners from Hungary and Slovakia – Bioeconomy Cluster (BEC), Discovery Center (DC), PD Krakovany–Stráže, and AGRO-MARK Kft. Their cooperation creates a strong network of experts, researchers, and farmers working together on the development and testing of regenerative agriculture practices. While BEC focuses on building a knowledge database and disseminating results, DC is responsible for collecting and analysing field data. The farmer partners contribute their practical experience and provide locations for pilot testing of solutions.
The Slovak part of the project is coordinated by BEC, whose task is to collect and support the testing of agroecological techniques aimed at improving soil health, protecting biodiversity, and promoting sustainable production. Key activities include the establishment of demonstration fields, dissemination of results through educational materials such as podcasts, videos, brochures, and infographics, as well as the organisation of seminars and workshops.
The project combines research expertise with the practical experience of farmers across borders. Through mutual learning, joint experimentation, and data sharing, it generates solutions tailored to the real needs of the region. The cross-border nature of the project ensures broader dissemination of results among farmers and stakeholders in agriculture and lays the foundation for further cooperation focused on soil protection and climate change adaptation.
