Project name: Enhancing bio-based innovation and participation in under-represented regions through cluster mobilization and collaborative governance
Project acronym: BIO-INSPIRE
Programme: CBE JU
Project duration: 05/2025 – 04/2028
Coordinator: CluBE, Greece
Link: coming soon
BIO-INSPIRE will engage Regional Bio-Economy Clusters in 7 widening countries (Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria and Poland,) and research and technology developers and clusters in 2 non-widening countries (Sweden, The Netherlands) to address systemic causes of underdevelopment across geographical boundaries.
Project aims to contribute to the transformation of the widening regional bioeconomies by addressing existing bottlenecks and providing to the regions the necessary tools to advance their bio-based research and innovation capacity and their ability to broader their collaboration networks.
By mapping existing ecosystems, mobilising clusters for synergies through the BIO-INSPIRE Knowledge Exchange Platform, serving as an open data platform, through Knowledge Transfer Strategy that identify relevant know-how and technologies, to develop a replication approach for future clusters, and provide evidence-based policy briefs.
Cascading Funding via open call will allow successful applicants to materialise their knowledge exchange projects. The final evaluation and assessment of the project’s outcomes will be consolidated in Governance Model Roadmap.
The project framework creates thematic Communities of Practice to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between stakeholders, ensuring their active and meaningful involvement in European bioeconomy initiatives and empowering regions to achieve sustainable growth.
