The overall objective of the project is to empower the target 10 countries in Central and Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia) to develop bioeconomy strategies and action plans through knowledge transfer and the adoption of innovative governance models from experienced countries – countries with a more advanced bioeconomy policy (Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands). The projectwill provide a set of National-level roadmaps for the bioeconomy strategies in the target countries that will be a result of the participatory bottom-up approach. These roadmaps will align commitment and ambitions of the bioeconomy sectors and will be the foundation of the national policy to be adopted as the official Strategy by the competent authorities. The roadmaps will be achieved through the establishment and effectiveness of the CEE2ACT National Bioeconomy Hubs (NBHs), enabling sustainability and resilience, to achieve better informed decision-making processes, societal engagement, and innovation.
The project consortium consists of 17 partners from 17 countries. The kick-off meeting of the project took place in September 2022 in Budapest and already during 2022, several project activities have started.

Panel discussions with experts, entrepreneurs and researchers who, using specific examples, presented the possibilities of supporting research and innovation in the field of bioeconomy and entrepreneurship in Slovakia.
We have presented to you the international projects BOOST4BIOEAST and CEE2ACT , which bring together experts, specialists in the creation and implementation of policies related to the agri-food sector, the bioeconomy and the circular economy.
The workshop attracted young people, students, people at the beginning of a professional career and everyone with an innovative mindset who is interested in the topic of bio-economy and circular economy. We want to involve active participants in the creation of supporting policies and international cooperation within the framework of the BIOEAST Initiative, the national bioeconomy hub and expert groups.
